LOCATION: Nationwide - UK and Eire

JOB TITLE: Sales Manager / Business Development Manager - Airports

THE COMPANY: Our client whose head office is located in Sheffield, South Yorkshire is an established and highly regarded engineering business and is one of the UK's leading manufacturers of industrial conveying and 'portation' management systems covering a range of business and industrial sectors. They are renowned for developing innovative solutions to address end-to-end bulk and material handling requirements for customers, and now in order to support its strategic growth plan and re-inforce its strong position in Airport Baggage Handling solutions, Controls and management systems, the company is seeking to recruit a suitably qualified Sales Manager / Business Development Manager.

THE ROLE: Joining a team of solution specialists, this exciting opportunity would suit an experienced Sales Professional who is well versed in selling complex engineering and technology solutions in the UK and Irish Markets.

Key Responsibilities for the Sales Manager / Business Development Manager's role include:

- Secure RFP/RFT opportunities for new baggage handling installations and existing baggage handling installation upgrade and renewal projects

- Manage key stakeholder relationships and maintain visibility in the key accounts covering UK and Irish Airports, T1 Contractors to the Airport Sector, and Baggage handling design consultants

- Support the In house bid team processes in the preparation of tender and bid documentation and take a leading role in the negotiations to secure new projects and contracts

- Identify and secure opportunities to bid for new Framework Agreement opportunities within the Airport sector

- Work as part of a small, specialist team in developing and presenting sales proposals and technical solutions to customers

- Develop the annual Airports business marketing strategy and sales plan for the future development of the UK and Irish markets

THE CANDIDATE: The successful candidate should have experience working within sales in either the Airports Sector, Logistics or in a related Engineering Sales role, and be familiar with handling and responding to RFP and RFT requests and proposals.

Whilst not an essential requirement, a recognised Engineering qualification to a degree or diploma level (or equivalent) will be helpful and you must be able to work from home and travel to all parts of the UK as well as the company head office in Sheffield, South Yorkshire.

Key Experience/ Characteristics preferred for the Sales Manager / Business Development Manager's role:-

- Proven and successful record working in Sales within either the Airports Sector, Logistics or in another related Engineering Sales / Business Development role

- Must be familiar with handling and responding to RFP and RFT requests and proposals

- Well versed in scoping and understanding complex Engineering and technology based solutions

- An engineering or related qualification, whilst not essential, would be value adding (e.g. Degree, Diploma or High National Certificate equivalent qualification)

- Have knowledge of and some experience in the principles of Framework Agreements

- Valid UK Driving licence is essential as is the ability to work from home and travel to all parts of the UK and Eire, as well as visiting the companies head office in Sheffield, South Yorkshire
