LOCATION: Acton Burnell, Shrewsbury

JOB TITLE: HR Administrator

SALARY and BENEFITS: Negotiable, dependant on experience and qualifications

WORKING HOURS: Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm

THE COMPANY: We are currently working with a school that was founded in 1949. It is England's premier co-educational international boarding school set in Shropshire countryside. The school has 540 students aged between 13 and 19.

THE ROLE: As a HR Administrator you will be reporting to the HR Officer providing support in HR matters to ensure college working practices, records, policies and procedures are maintained in compliance with statutory obligations and best practice.

Key Responsibilities of the HR Administrator to include:-
- Preparing personnel files and maintaining personnel records for all staff
- Processing DBS applications, maintaining the DBS database and re-checking personnel, volunteers and regular contractors at appropriate intervals
- Maintaining training records
- Liaise with the IT department, issuing identity badges and maintaining records
- Processing absence forms, maintaining absence records and monitoring sickness absence
- Assisting with the recruitment process, ensuring safe recruitment procedures are followed and the necessary documentation is complete and on record for all staff
- Assisting with the interview and selection process, including co-ordinating skills tests and campus tours
- Liaise with Accounts personnel in relation to payroll issues, ensuring good communication and exchange of information
- Ad hoc administration duties, as required by the HR Officer/Assistant Bursar
- Keeping up-to-date with employment law and attending training courses, as required

THE CANDIDATE: The successful candidate will need to have strong interpersonal skills and have the ability to work under pressure. You will have excellent attention to detail along with good organisational skills with a methodical approach. Ideally you will have experience of working with DBS/safeguarding protocols however full training will be given to the right candidate.

Key requirements essential for the HR Administrator role:
- A minimum of 1 years' experience in a hands on HR position
- Has a CIPD qualification, working towards this or equivalent
- Willing to complete a DBS check prior to employment
- Lives within a commutable distance to Acton Burnell, Shrewsbury
