As our in-house Technical Systems Trainer, you'll make sure that our employees are up to speed and upskilled in all our technical systems, especially with the new roll out of Oracle. That means supporting other staff, making sure they're familiar with systems and helping to deliver training.

For a role such as this, you will need to have previous experiecne of Learning and Development, delivering IT and Technical Training. Equally important is the flexability to travel as in this exiciting role you will be travelling acorss the UK and EMEA.

The trainer will teach end users how to use the new systems and devise training programmes for effective training and learning in support of departmental process, producing lesson templates, materials, course hand-outs, manuals and user guides, bearing in mind individual differences and barriers to learning such as dyslexia, computer phobic, disabilities and language difficulties. As Trainer you will assist in the design and collation of any training needs analyses required.

Role summary

The IT Systems Trainer is responsible for the planning, development, design, delivery and evaluation of systems training solutions to users within Specsavers, which will include staff within stores, support offices and manufacturing and distribution sites. The IT Systems Trainer delivers training through a variety of interventions, to ensure high quality and relevant training to all systems users within the business, having minimal impact on store/business operations and to enable high staff performance.

The role

Principal accountabilities

- To conduct training needs analysis to identify audience and impact of current and future business and IT systems
- To define and develop training courses and materials for software applications and collaborate with digital design team on the creation of elearning and other digital resources
- Ensure that the necessary preparation for training has been done, including provision of environment, systems, materials
- Deliver IT systems training to employees on a variety of systems across multiple sites both formally and informally using a variety of learning interventions
- Be able to proactively manage own time and work flexibly to include travel across the UK and globally with extended periods away
- Act as consultant to the business on best practises in learning and development, and provide insight and advice on various learning technologies e.g. elearning, video, virtual classrooms
- Ensure that personal development is actively undertaken and is in line with business objectives
- To act as a role model for the behaviours and values represented by the brand and the department

Skills include


- Ability to travel and be flexible
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A proven track record in training delivery and design
- A genuine passion for high quality content combined with good knowledge of cutting edge learning technologies and capabilities
- Ability to engage learners at all levels, and disseminate information in a clear and concise manner
- Good stakeholder and user management skills
- Project management skills
- A strong understanding and appreciation of learning theory and pedagogy within Instructional Design
- An eye for detail with good organisational and time management skills, with a strong focus on delivering to tight deadlines
- Self-motivated with a 'can do' attitude
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills with fluency in English

Desirable:- ERP experience particularly Oracle eBis and JDA
- Relevant training or instructional design qualification
- Manufacturing or finance experience
