Job description

LOCATION: Watford Village near Northampton, Northamptonshire
JOB TITLE: IT System Support Advisor
SALARY and BENEFITS: circa 24k - 26k dependent on previous skills and experience
WORKING HOURS: Full Time - Monday to Friday

THE COMPANY: Our client are specialists in time critical pallet deliveries through a nationwide network of members. The 1st line support is a pivotal role within the business which manages the integrity of their IT platforms for all their member partners and staff through proactive reporting and a professional approach. Our client's aim is to ensure the highest level of service and communication is achieved at all times.

THE ROLE: As an IT System Support Advisor you will be responsible in providing effective communication between Network members and 3rd party IT system providers, and ensure that all issues are dealt with properly at all times. Completion of and updating of Issue and resolution logs are required to allow for continuous improvement and to aid Input into future system design. You will also be responsible in supporting the groups IT department with projects and hardware installation where replacement is required. This role heavily focuses on excellent customer service and being able to handle incoming queries.

Key Responsibilities for the IT System Support Advisor's role in Watford Village near Northampton, Northamptonshire include:

- Provide 1st line telephone support for our clients bespoke in house IT and Android platform for members and hub users
- Manage and respond to telephone and email queries in a timely manner
- Produce project specifications (you may be required to manage projects from specification write up to testing and role out to staff and all member partners)
- Assist with any new projects
- Assist with any IT purchasing
- Proactively monitor system queries and identify system training needs
- Liaise with Head office and provide internal IT support to staff
- Liaise with client's IT providers to ensure all tickets have been actioned and closed
- Provide support to the member support/Customer service department

THE CANDIDATE: The successful candidate for the IT System Support Advisor must be a customer service focused, enthusiastic person who is PC literate and holds good IT skills. You must have good knowledge of Microsoft packages and applications and have experience within a customer service role handling queries or complaints. It is essential you have excellent organisational skills, have the ability to work using your own initiative and are quality driven/focused. Although not essential good knowledge of or experience working in the Distribution or Transport industry would be an advantage.

Key Experience/ Characteristics preferred for the IT System Support Advisor's role in Watford Village near Northampton, Northamptonshire :-

- Good IT Skills and being PC literate is essential
- Must have previous experience working in a Customer Service role handling queries and complaints
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to work using your own initiative essential
- Previous experience working in the Distribution or Transport industry would be desirable
