The Carver Group is a family owned business which has been manufacturing in the UK since 1770 and manages a portfolio of manufacturing businesses; Biddle, Thermoscreens, Carver Clamps and Widney Leisure. Within the building services industry the Biddle name is recognised and respected as a leading European business specialising in the supply of high performance and 'engineered to last' heating, ventilation, air heater and air curtain products and solutions.
Thermoscreens produces a comprehensive range of heated, ambient and cold store air curtains for any application including retail, commercial, public sector, architectural, industrial and refrigerated environments. Products are exported to over 50 countries worldwide and are backed by Thermoscreens' proven brand reputation offering outstanding design, service, quality reliability and availability.
Based on a platform of business success and part of its continuous improvement programme, changes in operating systems and procedures are planned and it is envisaged that this role will play a major part in that process. This is a fantastic opportunity for a IT Business Systems Manager to join our team and to make a difference. The role is based in Nuneaton, with occasional travel to Aldridge.
IT Business Systems Manager : UK Responsibilities:
In this position, you will be primarily responsible for managing the Company's IT systems, servers and hardware and future developments alongside ensuring the security of all data, networks and back:up systems. Your responsibilities will also include:
: Day to day first line IT support and training for all employees.
: New employee equipment setup and decommissioning equipment from leavers.
: Management of all company systems. Reviewing the performance of all systems and identifying and delivering all company systems developments.
: Maintenance and development of Company servers.
: Management of the company's manufacturing management system to ensure that we maximize operational efficiency throughout the business and working with Operations team to continually improve performance and develop best working practices.
: Providing IT support for all internal departments : develop methods to improve processes and systemize procedures throughout the business.
: Providing IT Support for small UK Head Office.
: Maintaining optimal performance of IT infrastructure.
: Reviewing and revising disaster recovery plans.
: Responsibility for the purchasing of all hardware and liaison with suppliers to ensure we maximize our buying potential.
: Responsibility for all project management relating to IT/Systems related matters.
: Managing the annual IT budget and ensure cost effectiveness
: Collaborating with Group and international colleagues on common systems developments.
The idealIT Business Systems Manager : UK:
To be successful for this position, you will be ideally educated to degree level or equivalent along with strong IT Management experience in the manufacturing sector. You will also possess:
: Microsoft (Workstation, Server Exchange, SQL ,AD ) and VMware knowledge
: Experience of server management, integrated manufacturing systems software and CRM systems
: Experience of WAN/LAN and storage management
: Microsoft office skills
: Management of service delivery providers
: Ability to analyse statistical data and interpret the results
: Strong problem solving skills
: Effective communication skills and the ability to work with colleagues at all levels in the company
