My client a leading global technology and mobile brand requires a new Head of eCommerce for their European Digital team on a rolling 6-month contract.

Team Overview/Ambition

The European Digital Marketing team is a very well regarded and rapidly growing function with a recent Presidential mandate to accelerate digital transformation across the region. Key projects are being driven forward in the areas of .COM (Retail and Direct), Social Media, CRM, Data, Analytics, and Digital Campaign Planning. The team are looking for high calibre individuals to join the team at this exciting time.

The Digital Team's mission is to deliver a personalized, meaningful, premium experience to consumers across a multi-touchpoint ecosystem (website, e-store, social, email, device, app, chat, media) to drive sustainable business growth.

The businesss will do this by better understanding their consumer's needs and behaviours through advanced analytics and focusing on continuous improvement on our digital channels. The team aim to create high value digital propositions they can deliver to consumers at the right time in their path to purchase.

Purpose of the role

The Head of eCommerce will create a compelling Strategy for driving eCommerce across Europe, making the business the best place to experience and purchase products. As part of this role, the Head will build and develop the organisational capability across European markets to execute the strategy and coordinate with stakeholders to implement supporting technical. The Head will be jointly accountable to drive eCommerce performance with each market and responsible for reporting P and L goals in each market.

Responsibilities- Develop, own, drive and implement the overall eCommerce strategy to ensure revenue growth
through increased customer acquisition, conversion and average order value (AOV)
- Be responsible for overall eCommerce direct performance and online trading.
- Support new markets to implement eCommerce and work closely with the technology partners to implement and enhance platforms to support eCommerce, including the rollout of Hybris 6, payment gateways, logistics integration and finance
- Ensure best practices are shared across and between markets and scale effective local initiatives to the regional level
- Build a consistent, end to end delivery model for eCommerce across Europe
- Own, manage and execute the online activities across the eCommerce function in conjunction with markets and external partner such as Brandpath
- Own, manage and execute the onsite merchandising and conversion activities including but not limited to, product promotions, price promotions, special campaigns, etc.
- Assess and implement commercial/sales opportunities to maximise online revenue and profitability
- Deliver strategies to manage online margin through effective pricing and promotional activities
- Motivate and manage a team of online commercially focused experts to deliver maximum online sales and profitability
- Manage senior stakeholders to authorise incremental marketing/campaign spend through clear ROI justifications. As Head of eCommerce you will work alongside the marketing and CRM teams to ensure customer contact management is aligned under a single plan
- To line manage the eCommerce team, ensure clear understanding of roles and responsibilities and clear objectives set, including stretch targets and rewards programme
- Be ahead of the game in new and emerging technologies, and innovative ways of communicating with customers, and share with wider team through agency partners and across the wider marketing team.


Skills and Experience- Significant experience working in high performing eCommerce teams, preferably in the consumer electronics industry
- Significant experience of leading people to deliver eCommerce Programs through teams, working at a regional level and effectively communicating value propositions with global and local stakeholders
- A proven track record of planning and managing eCommerce (often through others, internally and externally) that deliver growth to a complex set of Consumer stakeholders
- Proven record of using Data to provide compelling business insights in a Digital Environment
- Must be self-motivated with the ability to multi-task successfully and operate within budgetary and timeline constraints
- Demonstrated business results from delivering on-time and managing to large marketing budgets
- Presented frequently to executives to gain widespread support for change management initiatives to seek investment that delivers growth
- An ability to connect with people, using a range of influence skills to drive results
- A passion for technology
