Job description

Employ-Ability is a highly successful supported employment service currently delivering on its third Essex County contract. You will enjoy working for us if you value supporting people to recover from ill health through well matched employment. You will need the empathy to engage effectively with your clients and the energy and resilience to manage and progress them into work. We work in partnership with the local Mental Health Trust, and you will be based within the Loughton Mental Health recovery team.

As an Essex-based charity we want to recruit an experienced person to support people with mental ill health to find, and/or retain, employment. Based in Loughton the successful candidate will work closely with both the jobseeker and potential employers to secure ongoing employment. This calls for empathy, determination and a results-orientated approach to problem solving and challenges.

Ideally, candidates will come from a background of a recruitment, personnel or HR, however it is just as likely they will have broad business experience which can be drawn on to achieve positive outcomes. Most importantly you need to be personable, motivated, and have good communication skills.

We offer 25 days holiday to start b/h and a range of other benefits including pension. Hours are 37.5 generally worked 9.00 - 5.00, however the number of working hours can be flexible for the right candidate.

Job purpose

To promote access to employment for disabled and disadvantaged people, and in particular those with enduring mental health conditions.

Main tasks

To work in partnership with disabled and disadvantaged people (clients), employers and the local statutory and voluntary sectors to secure well matched employment opportunities for your clients.

To identify and meet the needs of disabled and disadvantaged people (clients) and their employers in order to support the retention of jobs that may be at risk.

To work effectively with Secondary Mental Health services, and with the relevant care co-ordinators and other clinicians.
