Communications Manager - Events Strategy and Organisation - London

Description of Business Line:
The Communication department of Societe Generale UK is ensuring:
The definition of the Communication strategy in the UK, in line with Societe Generale group Communication;
The promotion of Societe Generale's brand, culture, values, and business expertise on the UK territory;
The support of its business activities, principally in Financing and Advisory, Global Market and Investment Services, Wealth and Asset Management.
The Communication team is organised around 3 pillars:
Working under the supervision of the Head of Events, within a team of 4 people, the Communications and Events Manager is contributing to:
the strategic positioning,
the effective delivery,
the measurement of ROI, the digital integration, of Corporate and Business Events for internal and external stakeholders, promoting Societe Generale's image and activities in the UK.
Based in London, the role covers a large range of events dedicated to Internal and External audiences across the UK and Central Europe.
The scope of responsibility includes planning, co-ordination and execution of events in alignment with and supporting the Societe Generale corporate strategy and business priorities.
1) Event management
You will be project managing events either on a solo basis or in conjunction with the events team members in London and/or other communications teams across Societe Generale:
To deliver the events allocated
To manage the allocated events' budget
To manage the event agencies selection process (RFPs)
To manage the day to day agency relationship for the successfully delivery of the events - event brief, on-site logistics and delivery
To follow-up the marketing and attendee databases accordingly
2) Event strategy
You will be assisting in strategic approach of the events offering, taking into account parameters such as corporate assets, calendar, client segmentation, pricing:
To ensure that events are in line with the company strategy and reflect the company values
To anticipate and design the Events calendar
To design the necessary tools to support and monitor the events activity
To source and identify suppliers, developing and enhancing relationships
The role implies also to assist the other Communication team members as and when required.
The position requires developing strong relationships with key stakeholders.
Internally: business lines heads, marketing managers, COOs...
Externally: event suppliers; venues, catering companies, production companies, marketing/communication agencies.
Level of Autonomy:
The position is:
Reporting to UK Head of Events
Collaborating with the other Events department across Societe Generale, especially COMM/EVE
Competencies and Work Experience:
With a proven record in developing effective events programmes, you are detail-oriented and thrive under pressure. You have a passion for event logistics and tactics and have experience in managing event agencies.
This experience has given you a sense to understand the contribution of events to global marketing, brand promotion, and client relationship strategy.
You will have a real understanding of, and interest in, Banking and Financial Services activities.
Strong experience in Events management in the financial sector, whether in-house or agency based
Proven experience in the management of event agencies
Strong relationship and adaptation skills
Knowledge of global communication strategies and integration of Events within

- Trustworthy and transparent
Event management experience, preferably in a corporate setting or if from an agency background with experience of managing corporate clients.
