Our Birmingham team have exciting opportunities across our portfolio including; Programme Delivery Partner for Highways England, SMART/Major Motorways, Network Rail, Local Authority frameworks, Flood/Environmental frameworks and Major Ground Investigations. The Role: Delivers cost-effective design solutions that comply with the project and statutory requirements, supporting the wider engineering team. Reviews and assesses technical submissions from design contractors determining compliance with standards and requirements. Key Responsibilities: * Explore opportunities for developing local community benefits and solutions * Support design contractors, informing and supporting them in delivering design work that complies with requirements * Identify and assess design risks within the project * Ensure technical submissions comply with the accepted format and design requirements * Liaise with external stakeholders; fully capturing their input and balance that with the overall business and technical requirements, with the support of senior team members * Deliver safe and affordable design solutions that meet requirements, ensure value for money at all stages of the client development * Attend public consultation and planning forums, working with local communities identifying priorities The Opportunity: CH2M are appointed as partners for nationally significant infrastructure projects where we work as an integrated team alongside our clients managing engineering and other professional services companies to deliver exciting schemes on time and within budget. The minimum qualifications for this position are: * Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering * Communicate, engage and influence a variety of external stakeholders at public forums * Achieved or working towards professional member status * Strong written and spoken communication, interpersonal and influencing skills * Demonstrable knowledge of engineering design principles achieving optimal design outputs * Carry out robust independent checks on a wide variety of designs and produce, interpret and assess specifications, standards and technical reports * Communicate complex issues to stakeholders * Strong planning and organisational skills, delivering under pressure meeting tight deadlines whilst gathering input from other functions * Extensive experience of design and engineering, ranging from feasibility to detail design, working on a large, complex infrastructure project * Resolve complex design problems, demonstrating a tenacious approach tackling problems whilst maintaining attention to detail * Develop excellent relationships with a range of multidisciplinary stakeholders, demonstrating strong influencing skills Our CH2M Foundation are renowned for supporting and helping to nurture sustainable communities.
