MANCHESTER PUBLIC SCHOOLS
** Pride in Excellence ** - Family Liaison (Part Time) -
High School Diploma Required
Manchester High School This position is intended to be a bridge between the school, families and the community engaging families to a more fully partner with the schools in order to benefit student learning. The family liaison will perform outreach activities in order to establish strong relationships and effective communication between the school and the neighborhoods it serves. Job Functions: Increase meaningful parent engagement in the school
Help parents navigate the system
Support parent/teacher communicationCommunicates with families through phone calls, home and community visits and other outreach methods Improve student learning through effective parent engagement programs
Organize and assist in the management of family and community focus groups and events
Work with building administration and staff to develop effective strategies for communicating with families and engaging them in school effortsCollect important information about events at the school and then disseminate it to families and community agencies
Prepare a variety of written materials (e.g., newsletters, reports, logs, memos, handouts) to provide information to families and community members
Recruit parents as volunteers within the school (e.g., classroom volunteers, workshop volunteers)
Coordinate volunteer times and assignment of tasksAttend trainings as needed to be organized by the Director of Family and Community PartnershipsPerform related tasks as assigned by the building principal or Director of Family and Community

Qualifications:
Ability to develop relationships with students, their families and related stakeholders
Knowledge of the Manchester community and its strengths and needs
Strong ability to communicate verbally and in writing
Ability to facilitate group discussions
Ability to independently manage tasks
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks
Ability to maintain accurate records (basic computer skills needed)
Level of education: High School Diploma
Culturally, linguistically and socially diverse competences
