Job description



Qualifications: LISW or LPCC Required

Responsible for assisting the Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) Program Manager in the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluating the performance of the CSU and the team of professionals and support staff delivering services. Effectively supervises, supports and promotes the provision of trauma-informed services. Works closely with program manager to develop and support professional and personal growth of CSU staff. Performs full continuum of services within scope of licensure to individuals utilizing CSU and to support general operations of the unit. Makes treatment recommendations, and develops, completes and monitors individualized service plans. -

Assists with the development, implementation and evaluation of twenty-four hour, seven day a week program to provide crisis intervention, counseling, case management and support services to adults referred to and/or receiving services from CSU program.

Assists with the monitoring of program effectiveness to ensure safe and effective service delivery.

Ensures that assigned staff members carry out services in accordance with established policies and protocols of that unit, ensuring prompt, professional responses to referrals for services, and prompt completion of clinical documentation and staff logs.

Ensures adherence with established service plans, Ohio Department of Mental Health (ODMH) administrative rules, federal, state, and local laws, and professional standards of conduct.

Supports, directs and guides the activities of CSU staff involved in urgent mental health care services;

Ensures adequate staffing and efficient management of resources through creation, oversite and necessary modifications to monthly schedule.

Provides services that are sensitive and responsive to client cultural and ethnic backgrounds, functioning and needs, as well as environmental and situational factors by collecting and evaluating client information.

Supervises staff in the provision of services that are applicable for clients referred to the CSU, ensuring that they are sensitive and responsive to client cultural and ethnic backgrounds, functioning and needs, as well as environmental and situational factors.

Formulates diagnoses according to DSM-IV criteria by gathering, organizing, documenting and analysing all input sources. Communicates results of assessments, works with client on creating a plan and makes recommendations.

Works collaboratively with other management staff in the agency to ensure that program and agency issues (ie services, staffing, personnel, training, and supervision) are addressed in a consistent and appropriate manner.

Manages department records by ensuring clinical records and related source documents are maintained in accordance with industry and agency requirements, monitors and updates information in the service database and generates and distributes reports.

Represents MHS to community behavioral health providers, families and other individuals/entities as necessary to benefit clients and provide information/education about the CSU.
