Travel to Arizona! The competent RN has mastered basic technical and organizational nursing skills. He or she is skilled in evaluating patient responses and uses past experiences in providing care. Patients and families are viewed holistically, there is a focus on outcomes, and care is delivered using a systematic approach. The competent RN is able to make decisions guided by limited experience, as well as policies, procedures, guidelines and standards. He or she consults with other members of the healthcare team when necessary. At the competent level, the RN can comfortably care for patients in his or her clinical area. Posting Department L.D.R.P. Posting Department Description The primary goal of LDRP is to excel in providing quality health care obstetrical care directed towards meeting the physiological, psychological and spiritual needs of childbearing families. Yuma Regional Medical Center's LDRP is classified as a Level IIEQ center by the Arizona Regional Perinatal System. Care is provided to all patients who are pregnant regardless of their age. The LDRP unit focuses on patient and family centered care where mother and baby are cared for as a couplet. Care is delivered in the LDRP room for both mother and baby unless complications or need for surgical intervention occurs. If surgical intervention is required, the services are provided in the departments of Women's Surgical Services and Critical Care Services, which together provide full surgical, anesthesia and post-anesthesia care services in the LDRP Unit.LDRP is comprised of 7 Triage beds, 9 LDR's, 18 antepartum/postpartum beds, and a Baby Holding Area where normal Newborns of cesarean section births are cared for while the mother remains in the Women's Surgical Services area. Newborns requiring close monitoring or specialized care are moved to the NICU.The LDRP Unit is staffed with a Director, Clinical Nurse Expert, Resource Coordinators, Team Leaders, Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, OB techs, and Unit Support Representatives. The unit has an in-house OB Hospitalist 24/7, in-house OB dedicated Anesthesiologist 24/7, in-house Neonatologist and NICU team who attend all high-risk deliveries, and 24/7 available Pediatric hospitalist.The LDRP department utilizes evidenced based practice to ensure all guidelines meet the National standards. AWHONN guidelines for staffing are utilized; NRP instructors and AWHONN fetal monitoring instructors are on-site. Both the nursing and physician leadership are dedicated to providing safe, quality patient care.Approximately 3,500 deliveries annually.Are you searching for your Season in the Sun? External Experience 1 year acute care experience. Computer proficiency (must be able to pass computer proficiency assessment). Experience Preferred: Refer to unit specific job requirements.
