Job description

We are currently interviewing entry-level sales associates to join our Strategic Business Development team. Our team is constantly providing ways to improve awareness in the eyes of our target audience and seeks an individual who can participate in various stages of lead generation.

The selected team of candidates will get the opportunity to train and mentored from a company of experienced professionals to jump start your corporate travel career with a top 1% reputable global travel agency.

This individual should be prepared to work in a fast-paced team environment, and are responsible to prospect and generate new corporate travel business. This position requires assisting in building our sales funnel through cold calling and lead generation to generate new permanent sales.

RESPONSIBILITIES - Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of Balboa's travel services, technology and pricing structure
- Identify leads, manage prospects and acquire new business
- Determine prospect needs and propose appropriate service needs
- Meet or exceed the new business sales goals
- Prepare and deliver sales proposals/presentations and follow up with key decision makers
- Scheduling and documenting activities, and developing prospective customer profiles
- Complete required pipeline reports and other deliverables in a timely manner and in accordance with EVP expectations
- Regularly meet with Strategic Business Development to review weekly sales activities, progress on goals, and status of prospective customers
- Regular training of company service and technology offerings
- Other duties, as assigned


Balboa Travel is looking for candidates with experience in developing and executing sales strategies and development. Good communications skills and the ability to work well with people are essential. Achieve targets by selling Balboa's reputable corporate travel services and technology solutions using outbound calling, consultative and influencing selling techniques to create positive results for Balboa, our sales team and growth objectives, including but not limited to:
- Identify qualified prospects and navigate prospect company structures to identify decision makers
- Tee up leads that will turn into business through persistency
- Answer inbound emails and phone calls from prospects with dedication to client service and passion for learning
- Work closely with sales teams to acquire new opportunities
- Track and report regular business development reviews to team
- Relies on limited travel industry experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
- Must present and communicate in a professional manner
- Possess analytical/problem solving solutions for the customer and the company
- Must be self-motivated and able to work independently to meet or exceed goals
- Additional skills may be required to perform additional task(s) specific to work location, department or line of business
- High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Sales or related field preferred
- Strong command of MS Office, required
WORKING CONDITIONS - Based out of the San Bruno, California office
- Potential traveling to and from business appointments
- Opportunity to eventually work from home
