Job description

Position Summary:

The caregiver is responsible for Mastercare's clients under the direct supervision from our Service Supervisors from the client's own home. Caregiver will visit the client's home and perform quality, compassionate care within the scope of the care plan.

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Pass a physical examination during employment and pass annual health assessments thereafter.
- Must be able to read, write and speak English.
- Must be able to follow direction and accurately report changes in the clients condition
- Must be able to display care and promptness to the needs of our clients, as well as, communicate effectively of any changes due to behavior or physical limitations.

Physical Requirements:- Must be physically able to perform the duties of this position, including lifting at least 50 lbs, bending, stooping, sitting, standing, associated with clients who require full transfer with or without hoyer lift.

Work Environment:- Employees will be scheduled to meet the needs of Mastercare Clients within their home environments
- Employees could be exposed to blood borne pathogens, universal precautions is a must.
- Employees may be subject to unrestrained pets, clutter, or poor lighting and performing duties in homes with no air conditioning/ventilation

Essential Duties :- Follow current written plan of care.
- Light housekeeping
- Meal preparation
- Assists in grocery shopping an errands.
- Provides companionship and emotional support.
- Assists and escorts to and from appointments.
- Assists and escorts to recreational events and outings.
- Participates in activities and functions as directed.
- Helps maintain medication schedules.
- Communicates effectively both verbally and written with other staff, management and clients.
- Collects, reports and documents services provided in an accurate and timely manner.
- Report changes in the client's condition, concerns, or incidents in a timely manner.
- Submits timesheets weekly.
- Implements appropriate safety and infection control practices an precautions.
